Two inexpensive, fun and simple Fall craft ideas to bring into your home.

It's easy and inexpensive to bring the beauty indoors when you try these do-it-yourself decorations inspired by the splendor of the Autumn Season. These crafts are also a great way to get children interested in the changing world happening right in front of their eyes and in their own backyards.

Preserving Fall leaves is a simple technique, and preserved leaves can be transformed into many different masterpieces. Let your inner child and children search outside for their favorite Fall Leaves; seeing how many different colors can get collected. If the leaves do not lie flat, one can set them overnight between the pages of a heavy book before beginning the project.

Step one: take a brown paper bag and cut it in half. Place one half of the brown paper bag on an ironing board. Step two: get some wax paper and place the wax paper on the brown paper bag. Now, place a new found leaf on the wax paper. Then take another piece of wax paper and place on top of the leaf. Step Three: after placing the brown paper bag on top of your wax paper, iron the wax paper using low heat from the iron until the wax paper adheres to the leaf and turns transparent. Yes, it that simple and you can write names on the new decorations and even cut holes in them for placing on book markers. Want a new refrigerator magnet? Use small magnets from a craft store and glue on the back of your new Fall leaf accessory.

The Fall season may not come to mind when thinking of making wreaths, but with all of the seasonal materials around why not create a project and have fun and save money too!

Before you begin thinking about making a Fall wreath, think about how you can turn your Fall wreath into a Christmas wreath.

First, gather bendable branches with colorful leaves, long brown grasses and small pine cones. Second, use black wire hangers and open them up and create a round hoop. Use gardening tape (brown or green) to wrap around the hoop. Third, start wrapping the long brown grass and bendable branches wiring it to the hoop. Now, take the leaves and pine cones and start placing them where you think they look best then hot glue them to the wreath. Forth, get some Fall style ribbon, cut and make a large bow. Place the bow at the bottom of the wreath. For the Christmas season. Place some old ornaments on the wreath and hot glue them to the wreath. Take the Fall Style ribbon off and place a Christmas or red ribbon bow at the top of the wreath.

Fall offers the perfect inspiration for so many fun and simple craft ideas. Let your imagination run wild and bring the beauty of the out doors in!
Essential Oils vs. Fragrance Oils

Essential oils are really different from fragrance oils. Here's why: the quality of the essential oil is what makes the difference between being therapeutic and just smelling essentially "fragrant" wonderful. There are more than 150 different essential oils and all are with unique chemical properties and compositions. Fragrance oils on the other hand, are man-made chemicals that the Human brain perceives as a scent denoted by the name of the fragrance oil and can have as many as a million different scented names.

Essential oils are extracted from the roots, bark, seeds and berries of plants and are carefully refined to preserve the very thing that makes them "essential". They contain the vitamins and nutrients that keep the plant alive - the essential constituents that keep it free from disease and growing strong. These parts of the plant are highly sensitive and can be damaged if not properly processed.

The affect of the oil also depends on the species of the plant used and how it was processed. Different varieties of the same oil can have different qualities and be used for different things; perfumes, soaps and lotions. One essentially needs to be a chemist to really understand them all, so in order to keep it simple we will not go into what our staff chemists talks about. But if you really want to know let us know and we can ask her.

Essential oils are more expensive than fragrance oils. It take more than 30 petals of a rose to make a single drop of rose essential oil. They are usually processed through steam distillation or water distillation. Oils from citrus plants are called essences and are usually made through the process of cold pressing the stems and rinds.

Most high end premium candles are often scented with both essential oils and fragrance oils. One can tell if the candle is scented with essential oils or fragrance oils. Here's how: if the candle denotes the name Jasmine, Rose, Patchouli to name a few, the candle is made with essential oil. The name Cucumber and Cranberry denotes that the candle was made using fragrance oils. Cucumber and Cranberry fragrance oils are made using synthetic man-made chemicals for what the human brain perceives as Cucumber and Cranberry fragrance oil.

Fragrance oils have usually been created with other synthetic oils and sub straits. Fragrance oils are usually less expensive and require perfect mixing to ensure candles do not flareup. Some fragrance oils have been known to cause adverse affects such as headaches and dizziness. The adverse affects are due to the poor quality of the fragrance oil, or the improper mixing of the fragrance oils.

It's important to know the source and quality of your essential oils and fragrance oils for proper usage and applications. Our MY Joy Candles are made only from the highest quality essential oils and we use little fragrance oils. To learn more about essential oil candles visit our aromatherapy candle section on site.

We created this frequently asked questions page because we have received many telephone calls and e-mails requesting information about our videos, products, shipping and returns, wholesale and about us. We will update this frequently asked question post as new questions are asked.

Q: I don't have a You Tube Account, How can I see the MYJoy Layer after Layer Video?

A: We have attached the video here for your viewing pleasure, its at the bottom of the page.

Q: How often is your company going to update the MYJoy videos?

A: We are constantly working toward producing better candles and fragrances, and will release new videos when new products enter the market.

Q: We really like your videos and want to know if we can copy them?

A: Anyone can copy our videos and share them. One just has to send a link from our website or have a You Tube account (use share video), or send a link in an email. Please do not copy for purposes of using on websites that are of an adult nature. We will report this to our web-server and have the ip block re-directed to ICANN and the IP blocked.

Q: We do not have an HD monitor and the video comes across in blurred pixels.

A: The videos are made using HD cameras and HD video software. Our programmers have uploaded video capture and compressed files to ensure that any monitor can play these videos with 360 through 1080i. In You Tube, we have set a button for as low as 360i and as high as 1080ip for HD.

PRODUCTS:

Q: What kind of wax is used in your candles?

A. We use a special blend of wax that MYJoy Candle Company developed with a US based company. These blended waxes were designed to "lock" in the essence of molecules and will retain their true-to-life core value while not lit. Once lit, the essential and fragrance oils will diffuse into the air, layer after layer.

Q: Does your company use one hundred percent organic soy bean wax in your candles?

A: By the nature of the grown soy; the soy itself is organic. The word "organic" denotes that it has carbon chains in it. However, we do add a stabilizing property in our candles and they are 100 percent soy bean candles.

Q: Why are the soybean candles more than the regular proprietary blended wax candles?

A: Because soybean has a very strong carbon chain in its molecular structure, we have to use fragrances specific to soybean wax. Soybean candles burn at a lower temperature and do not change the chemical properties of the carbon bonds; but do change the attachment of molecules to the carbon bonds. The oils that are used, bond at a lower temperature and require more processing and less heat attachment. Thereby increasing the refinement process and cost associated with perfume oils.

Q: Does your company sell clear glass container candles?

A: No, we do not sell clear glass container candles. We have done extensive testing with many containers before choosing the container that we use now. Clear glass containers radiate heat to the outside of the container whereas the frosted container projects the heat back into the candle. Clear glass containers throw light across and down whereas the light in a frosted glass throws the light up and across. Finally, many clear glass containers have poor glass adhesion properties.

Q: Does your company use labels on the side of your candles?

A: No, we sell a product that provides an experience. In part, this experience is in light. The labels decrease the light throw and increase heat absorption. Labels such as plastic can heat up and melt causing damage to customer property. Acid washed logos and labels cause light refraction and throw light down thereby decreasing the experience.

SHIPPING - RETURNS:

Q: We really like your candle box and want to know about the gold foiled flames?

A: The gold foiled flames represent a reflective mirror. We wanted to create a starting point of relaxation. The first part of relaxation is the ability to self reflect. In addition, the flames represent the dance of two souls. The gold foil is reflective of two romantically involved people in the dance of love. The swirl in our candles represents the Roman column. It is said that the Romans were the first to make candles.
MYJoy Candle Company is all about spreading the JOY that life has to offer! We do this by relieving your stress with our natural oil essence candles and aromatic life scented candles. In an exhausted World, we also like to help our friends rejuvenate with some of our favorite Spa Experiences! Please join our community...contribute...consume...and create!

Many of us know, or don't know, that it's important to make time for one's self. In this very busy World, one needs to take a deep breath, relax and be in the moment. The stresses one endures throughout the day can be hard on the mind, body and spirit. The economy certainly has preclude many to enjoy or maintain the finer things in life. As a result, one has to find alternatives to maintain a lifestyle that one has enjoyed in the past.

We spoke with some of our favorite people at our local luxurious resort spas and they gave us a few suggestions. The suggestions hopefully will provide you a guilt free self indulgent relaxing day that only you know you need, and for only pennies on the dollar.

First and foremost, we want to create an environment that is conducive with relaxation. We know, one can't create what a five start resort created when one walks through the gates of relaxation. But, we do know that when one closes their eyes, one can create anything they want to, right?

Picture yourself here

Please put away all of the kids toys, toothbrushes and shampoo bottles. Remove as many distractions as possible, at least temporarily. The minimalist atmosphere will allow one to put the daily stresses or what is perceived as stresses on the back burner and will allow one to enjoy the spa time.

Borrow vases of fresh flowers from around the house. If you don't have any, try to pick some fresh flowers from the garden. Set these vases around and throughout the bathroom (now known as the spa). Make up some aromatherapy oils. If you don't have any; use a tablespoon of vanilla extract in some water, place the container in a microwave and heat it for about 45 seconds. The vanilla will diffuse out into the air and will have a soothing and calming affect on one's mind. In addition, use some orange essences to brighten one's mood. If you don't have any, use a fresh orange and squeeze the outer Rhine to extract the orange essences. One only needs very little orange essence to achieve this mood enhancement.

Find some really nice scented candles. If you don't have any, one can buy them through MYJoy Candle Company , (We know, we just had to get that plug in) use spa type candles or aromatherapy type candles. One of our favorites is the Lemon Grass Verbena , its fresh, clean and youthful. The lemon essences are extracted from young barely ripe lemons and produce the best fragrant candles.

Get a CD player or a portable radio. Put it on a counter top (but not near the tub). Play some very relaxing music or put in a CD of different sounds. For example, Whale sounds, Ocean sounds,Trains blowing their whistles in a fair away distance. Some people even like Thunder Storms. One can even play soft jazz while listening to the radio and causing a sense of being in the moment. What ever your pleasure, just use it to bring you into the moment of relaxation.

Indulge your senses! Get an unusual fruit drink and pour club soda in it, put in a crystal stemware glass, or steep some Green tea and sip it while waiting for the bath to be drawn. Use your favorite bath salts or bubble bath. If you don't have bath salts or bubble bath, use the orange peel from the orange essence extraction and put in tub with half cup of Epsom salts.

Wet your hair and deeply massage a conditioning treatment in it. If you don't have a conditioning product, use one part honey and one part olive oil. One will be amazed at its results. Wrap the hair in a shower cap or a Terri-cloth towel.

Now, sink into the tub and prop your head up with a bath pillow or a rolled up Terri-cloth towel and dream away!

Perfect Spring Time Cream Puffs

1 Cup water
3 ½ ounces of unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup bread flour
3 large eggs, beaten
2 egg whites (reserve yolks for pudding mixture if desired)

½ teaspoon vanilla

* Bread flour is a high - protein flour. The high protein gives you more gluten and structure and helps the cream puffs rise. All-purpose flour may be substituted but the results won't yield a spectacular cream puff shell.

** The egg whites help cream puffs be drier.

Preheat oven to 420 degrees F. Either line a baking sheet with parchment paper or with the non-stick baking spray. NOTE: Do not grease baking sheet; as the grease will cause the dough to flatten. Cut butter into Tablespoon size pieces.

In a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the water and butter; bring mixture to a full rolling boil, make sure the butter has all melted.

Remove pan from the heat and add flour all at once, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon or Whisk until blended. NOTE: The flour absorbs the liquid rapidly, and must be mixed thoroughly until there are no lumps remaining. Reduce heat to medium; return pan to heat and continue stirring until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan and forms a ball. Remove from heat and allow to cool for about3 minutes,

It should be about 140 degrees F. use a quality digital thermometer to test the batter.

In a separate small bowl, add eggs and egg whites;Whisk until mixed together. Then at medium speed, mix and beaten eggs/egg whites in a little at a time. Add no more than a quarter of the eggs at once; wait until eggs are completely absorbed before adding more, at first the eggs will act like they don't want to mix in, but they will. When all the eggs are absorbed, the batter is ready to use. The batter should be soft and a little sticky, but be able to hold its shape.

Using two teaspoons: With one spoon, scoop up about 2tablespoons batter for a large puff, 1 tablespoon for a medium-size puff, or 11/2 teaspoons for a cocktail-size puff. With other spoon, push batter off first spoon and drop in a mound onto prepared baking sheet. Place mounds about 2inches apart or you can use a plastic bag, or pastry bag.

Using plastic bag: Place dough into bag. Cut the end off one corner with scissors, to make an opening about 1/4 inch. Squeeze the mixture onto the pans.

Using pastry bag: Put a 1/4-inch star tip into your pastry bag. Fill the bag with the dough. Squeeze the dough out in a circle motion to create small silver dollar-sized circles.

Bake time varies depending on how big your blobs are. For 2-inch puffs, bake for a total of about 20 minutes, rotating the pans halfway through (switch pans so the top one is on the bottom rack and vice versa). At 1 minute into the baking, lower heat to 375 degrees F. and continue baking until golden brown. Approximately 5 to 10 minutes longer for the small puffs, and 15 to 20 minutes longer for large puffs.

Remove from the oven and immediately prick the lower side of each puff with the tip of a toothpick. Turn off oven and return puffs to the oven. Leave the door open slightly and allow the puffs to dry out for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let puffs cool completely on the baking sheet, or on a wire rack before filling.

For best results, use puffs with 24 hours, or wrap airtight and freeze.

NOTES:

Unfilled puffs may be stored in an airtight container for several days, but first cut them open and remove the strands of dough to prevent sogginess.

To freeze unfilled cream puffs, wrap tightly in plastic wrap or reseal able plastic bags. Do not cut cream puffs open or remove the strands of dough before freezing. Thaw at room temperature.

Do not add the filling until just prior to serving;otherwise the puffs will become soggy. Cream puffs may be filled with your favorite pudding, whipped cream, ice cream, or fruit.

When ready to fill, with a serrated knife, cut upper third from each puff and gently scoop out any moist interior. Fill with pastry cream or ice cream; recap with the top, dust with a little powdered sugar and drizzle with chocolate sauce if desired. Keep in a cool place until serving time, but not in the refrigerator.

Makes about 2 - dozen large puffs, 3 dozen medium-sized puffs, to 5 to 6 dozen cocktail-size puffs.
